Building Better Men Scholarship Fund The Building Better Men Scholarship Fund has been made available through the generosity and support of the Delta Upsilon Alumni Association of San Diego State University. This scholarship seeks to recognize those individuals who possess the qualities of “The DU Man” and will reward the two applicants who best resemble him. The first place recipient will receive a $400 scholarship and the runner up will receive a $200 scholarship.
There is no obligation to join Delta Upsilon. Criteria:
Maintained a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Transcript required. Must be a full-time student at San Diego State and planning to live on or near campus. This must be your first year at San Diego State, transfer students okay. Must write a 1-2 page essay on one of the following topics. Please write about what you think the topic means and ways one could uphold the chosen principal. The Promotion of Friendship The Development of Character The Diffusion of Liberal Culture The Advancement of Justice Must fill out the attached application form. May submit an optional one page letter describing anything personal about you that is not listed on the application. This may include athletic skills/awards, musical talent, favorite hobbies, favorite sports teams, web site design, famous relatives, honor roll, etc.
Selection: Applications must be delivered in person by September 10th to the Delta Upsilon house. The house is blue and white with a “DU” on the roof and is located directly across from Fraternity Row at 5545 Hardy Ave. Applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and the final decision will be made by September 3oth by this committee. It may be necessary for potential scholarship winners to attend an interview with the Scholarship Committee. Instructions:
